North Star Society

Erich and Rich have formed a new project called North Star Society. North Star Society is an acoustic duo project. They’re playing a range of classic covers, originals and improvised instrumentals. You’ll be able to see them for their inaugural gig at The Coffee Pot in Greenville, OH on Saturday, May 12th starting at 7pm. You can listen to a couple demo tracks from North Star Society by going to their website at www.NorthStarSociety.com.

Follow them on Twitter at www.twitter.com/nssociety and “Like” them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/northstarsociety.

And while we’re talking side projects, make sure to check out Erich and Justin in Jah Soul. And check out Erich in Puzzle Of Light and probably about 6 other bands… Greg and Chris also have some other projects going and we’ll keep you updated as more develops.

Buckeye Music Magazine Radio Clips

Thanks again to Buckeye Music Magazine for having us out last week on the Buckeye Music Magazine Radio Show. We had a really good time hanging out and getting to play some songs acoustically that we’ve never done before in that format. Next up for us is the Buckeye Music Magazine benefit at J-Alan’s on April 15th.

Here’s a couple clips from the show.

Updated

Photos from the session have been posted up.

BMM Radio

This Thursday at 8:00 PM, we’re going to be appearing on Buckeye Music Magazine Radio. Chris, Erich and Rich will be playing some of Nine False Suns’ repertoire, along with some other songs you’ve never heard NFS do before. We’ll also be interviewed as part of the show as well. It should run from 8:00 to around 10:00 – hope you can tune in.

Lousy Smarch Weather

We had a blast last night at the OE playing with The Andy Shaw Band. If you weren’t there, you missed a great set by them. We’ll definitely be working with them in the future, so keep an eye out.

Also, it’s not officially announced yet, but it looks like 3/5 of the band are going to be appearing on the Buckeye Music Magazine Live in the Living Room series this upcoming Thursday to promote the Buckeye Music Magazine benefit show at J-Alan’s on April 15th. We’ll post up more information as we get it.

Ladder 11 Review

The good folks over at Buckeye Music Magazine have posted up a review of our show at Jimmie’s Ladder 11. Go to www.buckeyemusicmagazine.com’ and check it out. Thanks to those guys as always for their time and enthusiasm for the scene.

Next up for us is The Oregon Express this Saturday, March 24th with The Andy Shaw Band. This is going to be our last normal bar gig for a little bit as we take some time to work on new material and do some recording. We’ll be back out on the scene in June, so make sure and come out to see us while you can!

Buckeye Music Magazine Benefit

If you’re a fan of our music or of many of the bands in the area, you know the name Buckeye Music Magazine. The good folks at Buckeye Music Magazine spend a lot of time and energy promoting local music in Ohio. They do all of this on their own dime and it’s time for us as musicians and fans to pay them back. So, Nine False Suns is proud to be part of a benefit for them on April 15th at J-Alan’s. This is going to be a great time for a great cause and helps the scene to grow. It’s going to help them upgrade their equipment and keep the lights on. Make sure to come out and say thanks to Chubby, Kim, Jimmy and everyone at BMM who help make sure that our scene stays strong.

Jimmie’s Ladder 11 + Video

We’ve got a few things coming up we wanted to let you know about. But first things first… some thanks are in order. Thanks to Jah Soul for having us out to the Trolley Stop and to the Miami Valley Music Fest Association for inviting us to play Winter Fest. It was a great weekend of music and we appreciate you coming out to see us.

Coming up we’ve got a couple shows in March. First up is playing with Lost on Iddings this Saturday, March 10th at Jimmie’s Ladder 11. If that doesn’t convince you, check out this promo video that some of the band and friends put together. Special thanks to Greg Thielen for his video skills and Amy and Amber for the acting.

After that, we’re playing The Oregon Express on March 24th with The Andy Shaw Band.

MVMF Winter Fest

Can’t say thanks enough to everyone who made the Miami Valley Music Winter Fest happen. We had a really fantastic time and the audience was great – lots of dancing and singing along. It’s a real joy for us as a band to get to play in those situations. It wouldn’t happen if we’re for the hard work of all of the people involved in that organization. Most importantly, the MVMF organization works really hard to raise money for local charities.

If you missed it, you missed some great music by The Rumpke Mountain Boys, Boogie Matrix Mechanism, SOL, Lost on Iddings, The Soul Rebels, Demolition Crew, Glostik Willy, Lyle, Tony Herdman and more…

Make sure to check out www.miamivalleymusicfest.com and keep an eye out for the summer festival they’ll be throwing again this year.

Next up for us is Saturday, March 10th at Jimmie’s Ladder 11 with Lost on Iddings. It’s going to be our first time out there and our first non-festival show with LOI, so we’re really looking forward to it. And the food there is pretty good, so you’ll want to show up early and grab some dinner before the show.
